- Tuberculosis is caused by an airborne bacterium and is highly contagious.
- If the immune system is weakened, the bacteria can settle in the lungs and form tubercules filled with dead cells.
- The patient will suffer with coughing bouts, bringing up dead cells, blood and damaged tissue.
- If left untreated, the bacteria will destroy the lungs and attack the brain, bones and kidneys.
